Sunny Sidhu was flagged off first from Kaza, having extended his lead over Sanjay Sikand the earlier day. Rahul Khana lost seven minutes in replacing a punctured tyre and has dropped down slightly from his overnight position. Bitto Sondhi (Bike Number 51), suffered a fractured wrist after a fall. He was prompltly taken to the hospital for precautionary checks and later discharged.
Amanpreet Ahluwalia (Car No. 10- Esteem), who was running fourth till the end of DAY 2, did not start from Kaza due to mechanical trouble in his gear box. H L Sharma (Bike No. 71-Shogun), had to drop out at Losar TC, due to a puncture. Harinder S Sindhu (Bike # 60) and Ashok Kumar (Bike # 69) experienced traffic problems and were ruled out for exceeding the MPL (Maximum Permitted lateness). Thus, DAY 3 saw 12 cars and 8 bikes surviving the harsh test of the Himalayas, in the X-treme Cars and the X-treme Bikers category respectively from the DAY 2 closing of 13 Cars and 12 Bikes. 10 cars in the Reliability Trail category closed at the end of DAY 3
